Hi, all! For those of you who don’t know me, I am Ashley Waters, a new attorney working with Joy Buck Gothard. If you’re visiting this website/blog, I’m sure you know Joy.
I’ve been working for Joy for about two years, but I only recently passed the bar exam and was sworn in to practice law in May, so I’m a newby. Fortunately for me, I have a fantastic mentor! I know there is no substitute for experience, but I’m learning so much from Joy, who has been practicing for thirty years now (she’s going to kill me for telling you that), that it is making up for that a little…I think.
So I’m sure you are wondering what this blog is all about. Joy and I have decided to jump on the blogging bandwagon and expand our web presence. We feel like it’s a good opportunity to educate our clients and to let you all know that we are staying up-to-date on all of the legal happenings around the state. My plan is to update the blog weekly to provide an overview of new and interesting law or legal news in our areas of practice, or just to let you know what’s going on around our office and community if there’s not much going on that week in the legal world. Hopefully these blogs don’t get too boring. I’m sure Joy will weigh in every once in a while and post something insightful too!
I plan to actually start blogging next week, but in the meantime, I thought y’all might enjoy this.
